Romag is delighted to have secured a prestigious, long-term supply contract with Bombardier (Derby) for train windscreens for their new Aventra platform. Initially 130 trains will be supplied to Transport for London for Crossrail and we will begin full scale production of the windscreens this August. This contract win is further testament to Romag's ability to work closely with our customers to develop bespoke glass solutions to resolve complex technical problems. As can be seen from the Aventra image this is a large, double curved, heated windscreen which has been designed specifically for this new train platform.
Martin Sharratt, Senior Procurement Manager at Bombardier, said, "Throughout the procurement process Romag demonstrated their technical and operational capabilities to deliver windscreens for this flagship project. They have a clear understanding of our precise requirements and have demonstrated their commitment to consistently delivering a first class product with a first class service."
Phil Murray, Deputy CEO at Romag, said, "We are delighted to have secured this long-term contract with Bombardier and it demonstrates that we are fast becoming recognised as a leading glass supplier to the rail sector. This project will further enhance our reputation as a leading UK manufacturer of specialist glass and we are looking forward to working with our colleagues at Bombardier on this flagship project."
